You may have conflict in your life. Most of us do. Sometimes, you may notice these conflicts resolve themselves because you, or someone else, takes action to make that happen. Sometimes, there is no resolution at all, but rather a lingering resentment of the situation that created the conflict. Sometimes, it’s much worse than that and the conflict causes open hostility and makes the relationship around the conflict difficult or impossible to manage.
This can have varying degrees of consequence in your life, of course, depending upon whether you must continue the relationship with a co-parent, co-worker, child, parent, grandparent or friend. Meeting the issue “head on,” may not have worked. You struggle to understand why your perspective isn’t understood and this may lead to real consequences for you, your children, family and/or friends. You may have tried traditional conflict resolution methods, including traditional mediation, arbitration and even litigation without success. It may even be that there are now rules in place that have allegedly resolved the conflict but it is clear, from its continuing impact in your life, that no satisfaction, likely on either side, has been achieved. It still isn’t working.
We think it can be different. Using tools arising from transformational mediation, we believe that introducing the notion that having everyone show up and listen to each other in a way they can be understood can begin to shift the nature of the underlying dispute. Integrated with therapy and even traditional legal services, as needed, we believe people can and do co-parent, grandparent, find workplace satisfaction and just live with more contentment with each other.
We start by figuring out what’s happening in your life and what isn’t working with regard to the conflict you identify. Our Program Director, Cherie Morris, meets with you, first, to hear, from your perspective what’s going on that requires some resolution. She will then determine, from that first meeting, what tools may be required to help you shift the situation to your satisfaction. She may recommend a series of Coaching Sessions, alone, or with others, to create a framework to begin to shift your mindset and add additional tools that may help you do this too. Recompose Us works cooperatively with therapists and even more traditional legal service providers to enhance this process. We take the time to figure out a solution that works for you rather than impose a solution upon you.
If you have an ongoing concern you have been unable to resolve, let us know. We always offer a 20-minute no obligation phone consultation to listen and let you know if we think we can help.
